"the best player going right now"

The video player we designed for 17 CBS local sites got a nice review from Steve Safran on Lost Remote:
"And oh, that video. The CBS O/Os simply have the best player going right now. It's Flash video, so it's much kinder to Mac users and lower-end PC users... As for the loading time? There is none. Honestly. Click and it plays. Superb."
The video implementation on the sites is a real strategic win for CBS. Not only does it provide a more authentic way to consume CBS local TV news on the Web, but it also uses the core asset of the stations to pull a rich media one-up on local papers (the traditional winners in local news). The content has always been there for the stations, but the access, integration, flexibility and interaction of the CBS player is what makes the experience a unique differentiator.
