Demetrious Noble. Less Afro, More Style.

ATLien Demetrious Noble remembers sitting in front of the television with his grandfather watching "the weird, white guy with the afro, painting landscapes and deciding to (1) grow an afro and (2) become an artist." No comment on the afro, but Demetrious photography makes Robert Ross -- or anyone else for that matter -- look a bit nappy.

The Persuaders

Here's the companion site to PBS's amazing documentary. You can watch the whole thing online, too.
In "The Persuaders," FRONTLINE explores how the cultures of marketing and advertising have come to influence not only what Americans buy, but also how they view themselves and the world around them. The 90-minute documentary draws on a range of experts and observers of the advertising/marketing world, to examine how, in the words of one on-camera commentator, "the principal of democracy yields to the practice of demography," as highly customized messages are delivered to a smaller segment of the market.

Virgin Atlantic Dream Interpreter

Crispin Porter + Bogusky has repurposed their Subservient Chicken idea into the Virgin Atlantic Dream Interpreter. It's good for a couple of minutes, but more mindlessly entertaining is the campaign's Complimentary Haircut, which features some great Flash work. Sure to generate good exposure for Virgin.

Ogilvy URL swiped by viral agency

Viral agency ASABAILEY has made a big agency look out of touch by snagging their unprotected domain name (for less than 10 bucks, by the way). Of course the Ogilvy legal team will have lots of fun writing letters and threatening to sue, but for now it's nice to see a savvy little monkey pushing around the old gorilla.

Sometimes I Work Nights & Weekends Illustrating Children's Books

I have been knee deep in ink illustrating Sometimes I Work In... a book series for traveling parents and their sad and anxious children. Armchair Media helped design a website that has now launched. Flip through the site and get a taste of what's to come.

Finland Hearts Reykjavik

Like grandma's cooking, the Finnish Syrup are yummy. The fact that they're using my typeface Reykjavik for their website text and navigation makes them even yummier.
